More than just hands.
I really like this photo and for me it sums up why I like to approach wedding photography in the way that I do.
It may not look like much to some at a first glance but it was a very emotional moment for those involved. A moment that could have so easily been ruined had I been directing people rather than letting the morning flow and capturing the most natural and intimate moments. Shelly’s mum was helping to pin a small pendant with a photo of her late father, to her bouquet. Sadly Shelly’s dad passed away so this was a way of him being there with her throughout her special day. Although it was a sad moment for Shelly and her mum, it was still an important one. With a few words from her close friend, reminding her about the makeup which she had just had done, Shelly was soon smiling again.
Weddings for the most part are filled with happiness but remembering the people close to us who we have lost is natural, even more so at happy times.
